Information from The National Archive’s complete ‘WO392/23-26, British Prisoners of War held in Japan or Japanese Occupied Territory as made available online by Forces War Records.

indicates that Edward C Cave was captured on 08.03.1942 and died whilst in captivity on 31.10.1944. He was help in POW Camp – Java.

Aircraftsman 1st. Class Edward Colin Cave (287682) was the father of Member 209
Our member tells us that her father, a Japanese P.O.W. died on the Japanese (Hell Ship) “Maros Maru on 31st October 1944 at 2.30 p.m.

44 Pilot Officer Jack Milton Cave (43700) of the Royal Air Force is commemorated at the St Michael Waddington Churchyard. His parents are Milton Knight Cave and Stella May Cave.

Inscription on the headstone reads:

His brother Vernon, Fl/Lt

Is buried in Yugo-Slavia
